Pechera (feathered chest adornment)

Each of the brilliantly colored panels on view in the exhibition was created from hundreds of glossy macaw body feathers, individually hand-knotted onto cotton strings and subsequently stitched, in horizontal rows, onto rectangular plain-weave cotton panels.
