Willy Richardson: Lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he teaches studio art at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Richardson has shown extensively throughout the United States. It is the vertical movement of the hand that characterizes Richardson’s practice and provides the works’ only overt sense of structure. It establishes the illusion of direction and sequential calm. However, it is Richardson’s choice of palette and variations concerning the density of mark-making that define the unique appearance of each individual composition.
